The real deal: Kit Willow’s time in nature

The real deal: Kit Willow’s time in nature

For over 20 years, Kit Willow has been a leading light in Australia’s fashion industry: first as a lingerie and ready-to-wear designer, and more recently as a sustainable fashion activist, campaigning for better industry and consumer practices. She is the creator of KitX, a luxury fashion brand created with ethically sourced, sustainable materials.

What’s your favourite thing to do in nature?

Walk, explore, observe. Take deep inhales of breath, hug trees.

Describe your connection to nature: what positives does it bring to your life?

To me it’s everything, it calms and it grounds. The more you connect with nature the more you learn.

What are your fondest memories of spending time in nature?

Spending time with my children in the Daintree rainforest, snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, lying flat on grass under a tree and earthing.

Many of us are time-poor and might not get out into nature as much as we’d like. Any suggestions for a quick nature-based pick-me up? Something sensory, experiential…?

Nothing quite like the real deal: find the closest park.  You can always plant a tree online with Carbon Neutral.
