How nature allows Anita Smith to just "be"

How nature allows Anita Smith to just "be"

If you’ve seen Koala Eco products in a retail outlet anywhere in Australia, chances are they've arrived there thanks to our wonderful Australian distribution partners, Unique Health Products (UHP). Based on the Sunshine Coast, this company has specialised for over 25 years in delivering leading brands in natural health to retail shelves all over the country. The whole philosophy behind the company is geared towards making it easier for people to choose healthier, more eco-friendly products in their local shops; and connecting the companies that make these products—like us—with a nationwide community of people who prefer solutions that are (naturally) better for them, and also better for the planet.

We feel incredibly fortunate that UHP’s Anita Smith is our partnership manager, looking after Koala Eco’s distribution across Australia. Originally from Adelaide, Anita lives on the Sunshine Coast with her husband and daughters: the perfect setting for lots of beach picnics with delicious local produce. We asked Anita to tell us about her connection with nature:

What’s your favourite thing to do in nature?

To feel the breeze on my face, and the sun on my skin.

Describe your connection to nature: what positives does it bring to your life?

When I engage with nature I feel calmer, and it builds my strength.

What are your fondest memories of spending time in nature?

My memories come from how I felt at the time, particularly a memory of feeling no weight, no responsibilities, no indebtedness to another, nothing required of me …

Many of us are time-poor and might not get out into nature as much as we’d like. Any suggestions for a quick nature-based pick-me up? Something sensory, experiential…?

There doesn't have to be an activity, a destination, or a timeframe: just walk out into the sunlight, sit in the shade of a tree, and allow yourself to just “be.”
